The other day I heard my son humming and singing to himself. It sounded like a fast-paced and aggressively metal-sounding tune and was surprised a) that he liked it and b) was curious where he heard it so I asked him about it and he replies 'daaaaaaaad, it's the sonic song'. I knew it obviously wasn't the classic intro I grew up with on Sega Genesis, so I asked him to show me.

So he booted up the ole Xbox and loaded his saved Sonic Frontiers game and sure enough, when he got to the boss I heard the song.  I checked out some of the rest of the official soundtrack and there are some definite bangers on there that go a lot harder than the video game music I grew up with.

Here's some of the gameplay from Frontiers. I have to say that admittedly I don't play many games like this, but it does look great, it's super fun and very challenging... well for me at least, my kiddo has beaten it like 4 times already. Guess I'll have to stick to flight sims and RPG's.
